2. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 Mindo es un destino mundial de observaci\u00f3n de aves?<\/b><\/h5>\n

Mindo es una zona reconocida mundialmente por su excepcional biodiversidad y la belleza del bosque nublado, que atrae a miles de observadores cada a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

It is located within the Andean Choc\u00f3 Biosphere Reserve<\/strong>, within the Pichincha Province in Ecuador, South America. Because of its natural characteristics and its location in the western foothills of the Andes Mountains, it was declared the first IBA (\u00c1rea de Importancia para las Aves).<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots and it is estimated that the region is home to more than 500 species of birds. This makes it a true paradise for birdwatchers, since in all of Ecuador the number of species observed reaches 1.678 seg\u00fan la lista en la plataforma EBird.<\/a>.<\/p>\n

En Casa Divina hemos observado y registrado 308 especies en nuestra lista en EBird.<\/a>. <\/strong>Adem\u00e1s, Mindo es hogar de varias especies de aves end\u00e9micas y que se encuentran amenazadas en la zona, seg\u00fan seg\u00fan la organizaci\u00f3n Bird Life<\/a>, such as como la Grallaria Gigantea<\/a>, Mochuelo ecuatoriano<\/a>, Cerquero tangarino<\/a> y Pava de Orton<\/a>. Posiblemente la especie m\u00e1s importante del \u00e1rea es Samarrito Pechinegro<\/a>, especie de colibr\u00ed cr\u00edticamente amenazada.<\/p>\n

There are also exotic birds such as the Cock-of-the-Rock<\/a> (Rupicola peruvianus), and the Black-headed Tanager<\/a> (Tangara nigroviridis).<\/p>\n

It is a fantastic destination for birdwatching all year round, as its subtropical climate and its location in a transition zone between the coastal region and the Amazon region attract different species during different seasons.<\/p>\n
